Medical Microbiology (MMIC)

MMIC 2000  Microbes and Human Health  3 cr  
This course will introduce essential microbiology concepts and explore the link between microorganisms and human health. Students will learn about the different replication and transmission mechanisms of key viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites that affect human health and the relationship between microorganisms, antimicrobial resistance, cancer, autoimmunity and global health. For IHP students only.
PR/CR: A minimum grade of C is required unless otherwise indicated.
Prerequisites: BIOL 1030 or BIOL 1031 or HEAL 1502.
